One of the goals of the Social Justice Committee is to give everyone associated with UUFCO the opportunity to take part in Social Justice work. By our very approximate reckoning, close to half of our congregation already does something for our Social Justice program in the course of a year. That something might include helping serve dinner at Bethlehem Inn or Jericho Table or attending the Fireflies Festival dinner, or joining an ISN action committee, or many other small and large ways of advancing our program. For those who have not yet jumped in, including some of the many new people who have come to UUFCO in the past months, the important thing is that you know how to contribute if you want to.

A first step is to know what the principal components of the Social Justice program at UUFCO are and whom to contact to find out about each part and to get involved in you want to. Even if you are not sure you are ready to make a commitment, it does not hurt to ask for information and give it some thought. Here is the list:

But, also, if you see a need in another direction and want to work to get that project started at UUFCO and in the community, don’t hesitate to make that proposal. Start by contacting Larry Price, Social Justice Committee chair. He and the SJ Steering Committee will work with you to try to find a way to move forward.
