Standing Program Ministries & Committees 

Committee on Ministries (COM): The Committee on Ministries supports the efforts of UUFCO program committees and assists them with their ministries. The COM identifies and evaluates new congregational directions and/or projects. Contact: Co-Chairs Larry Baker and Chandra Smith

Children's Religious Education Program: The RE program provides our children and youth with a foundation in Unitarian Universalist principles and purposes. See the Religious Education page for more information about the curriculums and classes currently being offered. Contact: Director of Religious Education Rebecca Fender

Adult Religious Education Program: The Adult RE program encourages spiritual growth and promotes a free and responsible search for truth and meaning. Classes are offered seasonally and throughout the year. The every Third Sunday Discussion is an Adult RE activity. See the current newsletter for current classes and programs.

Caring Committee: The Caring Committee is comprised of two teams, a Care Team and a Resource Team. The Care Team is made up of volunteers in our congregation who provide daily needs and support to one another--meals, cards, visits, rides, etc. The Resource Team is made up of professionally-trained members of our congregation who can provide referrals and support as needed. The Caring Committee strengthens connections within the Fellowship by responding to the needs of UUFCO members and friends.

Outreach Committee: Through annual community events such as Bend Pride, advertising in the Bend Bulletin, participation in the annual community Thanksgiving Service, and other activities and projects, the Outreach Committee includes all the ways that we celebrate our Unitarian Universalism in Central Oregon.

Fellowship Committee: The Fellowship Committee engages with the congregation as a whole by welcoming visitors, supporting those on the "Path to Membership," and helping existing members to develop strong inter-generational relationships.

Social Justice Committee: The Social Justice Committee coordinates and encourages UUFCO participation in social justice activities and programs locally, regionally, and internationally. Some of our ongoing projects include monthly meals for the Bethlehem Inn, the monthly Greater Community Collection, our Adopt-a-Trail section, the Church of the Larger Fellowship Prison Letter Writing Ministry, and participating in the current denominational Congregational Study/Action Issue of "Immigration As A Moral Issue." Good Times: The Good Times Committee is just that! A way to get-to-know and have fun with other UU's. See our current newsletter for current activities, which change with the season. Current groups include: cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, mah jongg, book group, Circle Suppers, card playing, stitching, and movies. Contact: Shera Hunn Felde

Worship Committee: The Worship Committee plans and coordinates Sunday services and guest speakers, recruits, trains, and schedules volunteers to host and lead worship. Contact: Rev. Heather Starr

Choir and Music: The Choir gathers on Tuesday evenings to rehearse and to sing. Other guest musicians are invitied to participate in services throughout the year. Contact: Music Director Virlene Arnold

Sunday Volunteers Program: Sunday Volunteers work with our Administrative Assistant on Sunday mornings to serve as ushers, greeters, sound assistants, to bring the Sunday morning coffee, set-up for the service, provide flowers and welcome newcomers. Contact: Administrative Assistant Gretchen Grivel
