Get Involved

Get to know other like-minded people by joining with them in making music, taking on small (or large) tasks, in justice-making, and in many other ways.

Below are TWELVE Ways you can put your Toe in the Water at UUFCO. All the contact info for these Committee members and organizers is available by e-mailing our Administrator, Chela, at uufco @ yahoo.com and letting her know what your interest is. Learn more about committees here.

1. Cook and serve food at the monthly UUFCO dinner provided to the residents of the Bethlehem Inn, one of Bend's shelters for the homeless. Contact the Social Justice Committee or our Administrator to get on the list of occasional volunteers.

2. Nominate and invite a local nonprofit for the "Collection for the Greater Community" one Sunday a month. Contact the Social Justice Committee.

3. Attend a Circle Supper, the monthly gatherings in homes where a shared meal and company is greatly enjoyed. Contact the Good Times Committee.

4. Sing beautiful music with the choir on a Tuesday evening as they practice for a Sunday service. Contact our Music Director.

5. Join UUFCO's Care Team and help out someone from the congregation with transportation or meals when the need arises. Contact the Caring Committee.

6. Join in an activity with the YUUligans, the 18-35 set that picnics, bikes, bowls and has lots of fun together. Contact the Good Times Committee.

7. Take an Adult Religious Education class that usually meets weekly for 3-5 times in the evenings. Contact the Adult Religious Education Coordinator.

8. Get involved in one of the Good Times Committee's activities – hiking, card playing, canoeing and kayaking, concert attendance and more in the local area.

9. Co-teach a children's Religious Education class on Sunday morning – curriculum and experienced teacher provided! Contact our Director of Religious Education for Children and Youth.

10. Accompany Rev. Heather Starr on one of her monthly "Trail Hours" for a walk and good conversation. See the current newsletter for upcoming hours, times and location.

11. Be part of the Sunday morning team to help set-up, greet, or pick up coffee. Contact our Administrative Assistant.

12. Plan to attend and/or help organize the Annual UUFCO Auction – a wonderful evening that generates activities and fun for the whole year ahead.
